Today I am exhausted. Unbelievably exhausted. I haven't slept well all week and today it's all catching up with me. I have a short day at work, so hopefully I'll get home early and feel refreshed. So I have opted to rework an old discussion from my tumblr.
How would you decorate the perfect room?
1. Really tall ceiling with exposed beams or wood flooring. (I know this relates to architecture and not decor unless the beams were just for aesthetic but just roll with me.)
2. White walls with one statement wall painted light slate gray walls, all have white molding/trim. It would have white built in cabinets or shelving for all my knick knacks. (Which I will discuss below)
3. It would have a (or multiple) skylight(s) and a wall of windows with blinds we can close for privacy. Or if I had solarium I wouldn't mind. So we can watch lightning storms in the warmth and comfort of our home.
4. Knick knacks: a vase with fresh lilacs, pictures of my friends and family artfully displayed, the clock that my aunt and uncle got for Kyle and I for the bridal shower, the cigar box I bought for Kyle, along with the decorative gold letter D that I have from the bridal shower, and a picture of Kevin. (Kyle’s dad.)
5. Long hangy light fixtures in an industrial style.
6. Reclining couch. It has to he comfy and difficult to see dog hair because I love puppy snuggles on the couch. Decorated with big fluffy pillows.
7. A dog bed for our babies to lay on when they aren't snuggling on the couch with me.
8. The canvas from our wedding with all the guests thumbprints and the Chicago skyline would both be hung on the walls.
