Happy Monday my friends. I am approaching today recharged and refreshed. I didn't have as productive of a weekend as I would have liked. My Sunday plans were foiled by a migraine. I ended up in bed for a few hours until it was dulled enough for me to function. I was bummed but now I feel so very rested and relaxed. Perhaps it was for the best!!
Onto my Menswear Monday where I take an inspiration look for men, and find pieces to recreate the look for the big and tall gentlemen.

Hello everyone. Now that I have made it two months into blogging instead of posting every day I am going to go the quality over quantity route and post when I've got content worth posting. There has been quite a bit going on and I've been struggling with decent content or so I've felt.

You ever meet someone and felt that they looked like their name? Did they look like a Jessica or Ashley or did they look more like a Katie or Lindsay? It's one of those phenomenons that I have alway found fascinating. I didn't grow up with other Theresa's around so I didn't have any clue what one would look like aside from owning a mirror.
Today I am discussing name numerology.

Numerology is any belief in the divine or mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events. 

Numerology is I am sure one of those topics much like horoscopes that you either believe or you don't. Perhaps in grand scheme I am not sold on numerology but I do feel name numerology is what has grabbed my interest. A friend qas discussing it on Facebook which lead me to look up my name.

Guys I am going to get real with you. I fail. I fail a lot. I fail hard. I am not perfect by any means. I make mistakes and I learn and grow from it.
I feel like failure seems to be a reoccurring topic at work and in my personal life.

Hello. Happy Tuesday! One day better than Monday.
I have to confess the last two weeks were really brutal for me. We were short staffed at work with Vacations.  I relocated everyone's workstations putting myself from a sit down location to standing. I've been so sore and exhausted. I've been tired and struggling for content for my blog.
I had to rehash some old content but I did it. Ihave been really proud of myself for sticking through it.

My motivation was the reason I started my blog. I started because I remember seeing skinny to average sized girls wearing cute clothes and never being able to find what I wanted or liked in my size. It's just so hard to be able to express yourself when you're limited to what is available in your size.
I've seen so many plus size sections include very "old lady clothes." Not that I am opposed to that but when I was 16 there was just no way that would work for me.

I want to be able to help others find an outfit they love. To help them feel as fabulous outside as they are inside. Everyone deserves to feel like a million bucks once in a while.

Happy Sunday Funday!
Yesterday was a great day. My husband has been busy with classes to get his motorcycle license so I have had some free time to visit with my mom. (My mom and I totally took a nap while I visited and it was glorious.)
Yesterday evening Kyle and I went to our friends and played a game called Disturbed Friends which was super fun.

Have you guys heard of ThredUp?
They are basically a super cool second hand online shop. They take and resell items. They have so much variety. I have only ever gotten shoes from there but I love the shoes and they are presently at work as a spare when I need a break from my regular shoes.

They recently called out Burberry for incinerating $37.8 million dollars of inventory. ThredUp suggested that they donate the unused inventory and ThredUp would donate 100% of the proceeds to a charity of Burberry's choice. That's pretty fricken amazing if you ask me.

Happy Friday my friends! I for one am so glad it's almost the weekend.
Earlier this week my husband was let go from his job. That admittedly has been very difficult. We are just doing our best to make the most out of our situation. I am glad we get to spend the weekend with him.

Hello. As you may have noticed I took Sunday off. It was a long week, my husband had a bachelor party to throw for his long time BFF Doug Sunday afternoon as well.

Morning friends! Yesterday was a enough Monday for sure. Last night my dogs woke up and were just not in a mood for sleep. Buck (who is still in an E-Collar from being neutered) was just prancing about our yard at an ungodly hour. Today I decided we could do one of those question and answer Facebook Surveys.
I feel like every once in a while it's nice to fill out those Facebook quizes to get to know a little more about eachother.

Hello out there. I hope you're doing well. This week for me has been longer than usual for me. We had an audit the past several days and it has just been so many weird situations that you cannot train or be prepared for.
My birthday dinner with my husband's family was wonderful. Burgers on the grill! Yum! My mother-in-law makes the best burgers by seasoning the patties.

I have to admit this week I struggled for inspiration. Everything I like was too fall or too winter and I wanted a great fun summery look. Then I found my Inspiration and it was love at first sight.

Hello out there! My weekend was great but over way too soon. I spent Saturday with my best friend Garage saling. We got some cool finds. Happy Fashion Friday Daydreamers! It's been technically a short week but such a long week. This week alone, I swear had three Monday's.
Today my dog Buck is going in to get neutered. I apologize if this Fashion Friday is a little thrown together but my whole morning routine is just shot.

At least once a year, mid winter when I am digging myself out of the snow I convince myself that I could live in a warmer climate.
Once a year, mother nature hears me make this wild outlandish claim and the queen of vengeance that mother nature can be, she makes me eat my words by making it ridiculously hot for like a week.

It's been like 93 with humidity which is insanity. 85 with humidity is too hot for here.
My husand and I have been trying to stay hydrated with this heat. Thank the heavens for suntea. It's been perfect brewing suntea weather.

Summer Beach Bag Essentials

It's summer finally and it's hot
Kyle and I used to go out on his families' boat with friends every so often. We haven't been in so long but I absolutely miss it.
We used to just pack our essentials, hit up the gas station for cool drinks, snacks, and ice for our cooler and hit the lake. The best parts were zipping around, wind in our hair, listening to music, and having a few laughs doing nothing.
We have since started just packing up and heading out to the beach instead which is not as exciting but it's definitely relaxing.

Menswear Monday Casual Comfortable

Happy Monday! It was a hot hot weekend here in Michigan.
This weekend my husband and I did a whole lot of nothing. Spent a lot of time at home or at his grandparents. We stayed in the air conditioning which is what was the most important part.
We had to go on an adventure to purchase more fans because it was so hot. Poor Buck was letting his pupsicle (just ice) melt so he could lay in it because he was so hot.
Everywhere was sold out of air conditioners, box fans, or midsized fans. Everywhere except BigLots! One fan can really make a heck of a difference.

My Tips for Sunburn Relief

It has been so very very hot. We stayed inside as much as we could because it was too hot for us. It did make me think about all the poor folks who were out and probably got burnt to a crisp.
I've been there. My Scottish roots are strong and I burn something terrible.
I am going to share some sunburn relief remedies.

In the last year I’ve noticed my skin going wild. I'd been breaking out more than ever. 

I had started noticing weird little bumps on my cheeks along my hairline down my lawline. I thought they were really tiny pimples however upon a closer look, they actually are not. They were little bumps called "milia."

My Favorite Holiday: 4th of July

It's quite ironic that my favorite holiday is the 4th of July (Independence Day) being that I was born in Canada. However it is my favorite holiday.
Independace Day is the day that the United States celebrated their legal seperation of the Thirteen Original Colonies from Great Britain.
Where I live it's cold most of the year. I love summer. July 4th is the holiday that falls in summer. I love that we celebrate with fireworks, sparklers, parades, bon fires, bbq's, camping, picnics, concerts, carnivals, festivals, etc.

I am sorry for the lack of a post yesterday folks! My best friend was very sick Friday the 22nd. She has two small children so her husband stayed home and I took her to the Emergency Room. She is doing better, thank goodness. 
I usually start thinking of blog content before the day I post. Yesterday was a bit busy and truly I have been working on switching over blogging platforms. Soon *fingers crossed* I'll have my own domain and it will be just marvelous darling!Yesterday I did go to T.J. Maxx in one of my many adventures. I sprayed myself with some Clearance perfume. On the ride home (after a trip to the grocery store) my husband remarked about how ridiculously amazing I smelled and how much he loved my new perfume. This resulted in me going back and buying said perfume.

Happy Friday y'all! 

It has been the world's longest week for me. 

Back in December before my trip to the Dominican Republic I went in to see what immunizations I needed to travel to the Dominican. 

Long story short I was missing a vaccine that wasn't required when I was a kid and is required now. Flash forward to Tuesday, I had a final booster for that series.

I got some rough side effects from the booster. Dizziness, headaches, upset stomach, fatigue, and sore throat. I actually thought I was getting a cold bug of some kind. I am hopinh that it all has subsided. 

The other main reason it's been a long werk is one of my coworker's is moving to Florida.

She and I worked together years ago. She has great work ethic, and I actually was her reference for the job she has now, so we go back years. 

Everyone is so excited for her new adventure but so sad because we're going to miss her so much. Today is probably going to be pretty heavy.

Which is why today I am doing a look thats comfy and chic and light.

Growing up my dad always loved to travel.
At the age of 10 we went to Scotland because that is where my ancestors are from. We dis the tourist thing, checked out castles and Highland Games. We attended our clan's Annual General Meeting and met the Chief of our clan. I even got to attend a ball and a hog roast. I was so super excited about the Ball, because it's like every little girl's dream.
On the same trip we visited friends in Germany. They had a cabin in the Black Forrest. It was wonderful and magical.

Ever since I have always loved other countries and cultures.

One of my favorite things I can remember from my childhood was cooking and baking with my mom. She had the end cupboard just for her cookbooks and recipes. I remember she had this really great wooden recipe card box. I don't even know if she still has it, but as I am growing up I think I want my own recipe card box. If I have a daughter maybe I'll buy one and put her favorite recipes in there for when she gets married, moves out, etc, etc
Or perhaps I will have to do two recipe card boxes for my two nieces when they move out, get married, etc, etc. With a note that says "If Aunt Resa can make this, you totally hot this."

Self-Care

I am on a constant journey to feel better. I personally feel one of the best ways to feel good is self care.

I had fully intended on posting a continuation from the gift ideas today, but I had an absolutely terrible no good awful bad day yesterday. Nothing went according to any plan I could have prepared for. So after work I came home, took some deep breathes, exhaled the bad sh*t, and did some self-care.

Self-care is literally defined by Wikipedia as "In health care, self-care is any necessary human regulatory function which is under individual control, deliberate and self-initiated."

I have learned what I do for self-care may be totally different than what other people do. 
My self care checklist includes:

• Drinking 8 glasses of water a day
• Watching a favorite movie
• Cleaning (Something about it clears my head.)
• Talk to a friend
• Walking 9,000 steps
• Make sure to use moisturizer everyday
• Take time for myself
• Playing with my dogs
• Doing something fun
• Making sure I get 8 hours of sleep
• Take a moment out of my day to make somebody smile or laugh.

After work yesterday I came home, hung out with my husband, watched a movie, did a cleansing face mask, chatted on the phone to my best friend, drank some tea, and played with my dogs. I felt significantly better.

Cleaning Hacks

My husband works in the garage at a car dealership locally. 
As you may have guessed he comes home filthy. I feel like I spend most of my time at home cleaning. 
I actually just noticed there is a spot on our doorway where he must grab onto or touch everyday he comes home that I managed to miss because it's just disgusting. 

Here are a few of my favorite cleaning tips:

Ceiling fans though, who knew?

Guess what I learned y'all?
You are supposed to adjust the direction of your ceiling fan based on the season.
I had no idea.
I gave it a whirl.
When we moved into our rental a year ago the fan was going clockwise and we hadn't touched it. I switched it last week and it has made a world of difference in our bedroom.

Have you guys tried switching fan direction? Do you do it religiously? Do you feel it makes a difference? Let me know! I'm interested to know what y'alls opinions are on this.
