Hiya folks.
Our little Buck got neutered Friday.
Initially they stated he didn't need a cone but after getting home he needed a cone.
We attempted the "E Collar alternatives." One I found was pool noodles, we ended up buying two kinds of pool noodles.
We thought since he was a little fellow that a pool noodle would work. Little did we realize being so long he could still reach himself. We then tried a duct tape and towel alternative, again he could still reach.
We tried putting Ryker's XXL E Collar on and it was huge. Poor Buck couldn't move with it on. He was livid with Kyle for hours. He wouldn't let Kyle pet him. He cried for a solid hour at bedtime. He was just inconsolable. We went and bought him a smaller E Collar which worked fabulously. However, it was too short. It made licking an inconvenience until early this morning. He managed to chew his cone off.
RIP cone.
Now he is presently wearing Ryker's cone again. I did more research on fitting a cone and I see the importance of making sure it's the right length.
Here is a little video on how to correctly use the cone.
