It has been so very very hot. We stayed inside as much as we could because it was too hot for us. It did make me think about all the poor folks who were out and probably got burnt to a crisp.
I've been there. My Scottish roots are strong and I burn something terrible.
I am going to share some sunburn relief remedies.
Cold milk on a hand towel and places on a burn can help relieve a burn.
You can apply wet tea bags directly to the burn or run a bath and steep 4 to 6 tea bags in a bath to soak your whole body.
Cucumber Slices. Just cut up a cucumber and lay the slices on your burn. You can put some over your tired puffy eyes too and feel like you're having a little spa day!!
Aloe Vera. Everyone recommends aloe vera because it works. If you have a plant just slice open a leaf and apply to the affected area.
Bath and Body Works has this great line of gel lotion. One of their sales girls recommended it when I was burnt and it has a cooling sensation. You can buy it here.
One of my families tips for sunburn is Vicks Vaporub. I used to think my mom was crazy because I could never find any literature on the benefits of Vicks for a sunburn. There is literature on the benefits of Eucalyptus for sunburns. Vicks has Eucalyptus in it. I find Vicks works and leaves a cooling sensation from the menthol. It sort of removes the sting to the burn. I just hate the sticky feeling it leaves.
